As an athlete, your horse may experience physical or emotional stress, injury or overuse. What's a horse to do? Adapt, compensate, or become increasingly unable to perform. The goal of massage therapy is to help our equine athletes recover from and prevent further injury, maintain a balanced and supple body and perform at their peak.
The initial appointment for your horse includes filling out a health intake form, an assessment by the therapist, the massage and post massage walking or excercise. Be prepared to spend at least 1 1/2 hours for this session. A written report is also provided on each massage to record the work performed, specific areas of tension or concern and recommendations for stretching or maintenance. Massage works very well in conjunction with chiropractic work to keep tight muscles from pulling the horse's structure out of alignment again or to prepare the horse for an easier adjustment.
Massage Therapy is not a diagnostic tool or substitute for proper veterinary care. Please consult your veterinarian for proper healthcare.
